Last year, realme made a significant shift with its Spire strategy for its Number Series smartphones. It’s a strategy that focuses on providing one leap-forward technology supported by good design, performance, and experience. This all started with the realme 10 and its focus on performance. realme Philippines is set to bring the realme 10 Pro Series 5G to the country on February 14, 2023. Here’s what to expect from these smartphones.
That Curved AMOLED Display Goodness!
After focusing on cameras last year with the realme 9 Pro Series, the main focus for these phones is on the display. The realme 10 Pro 5G features a 120Hz Boundless Display that’s nearly bezel-less. It’s a 6.72-inch FHD+ LCD and has a screen-to-body ratio of 93.76%. Alongside that high refresh rate, this phone has a 240Hz touch sampling rate, support for 6 Levels of Refresh Rate, and 680 nits of peak brightness.
Meanwhile, the realme 10 Pro+ 5G brings a flagship-tier 6.7-inch 120Hz Curved AMOLED Display with 0.65mm Double-Reinforced Glass and a 61° Precision Curvature. This results in ultra-thin bezels with the chin being only 2.3mm, the thinnest yet in a Number Series phone. It features a resolution of 2412 x 1080 (FHD+), covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, has up to 950 nits of peak brightness, and has a 360Hz touch sampling rate. If the app supports it, it can use up to 1260Hz of the instantaneous touch sampling rate.
Very Capable Midrange Phones!
Powering the phones in the realme 10 Pro Series are 5G-capable processors. The 10 Pro uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor while the 10 Pro+ uses the MediaTek Dimensity 920 processor. (These are the same processors as last year’s phones, so we’ll see if there’s any significant difference here.) Both phones have 5000 mAh batteries and support SuperVOOC fast charging. The 10 Pro+ has 67W SuperVOOC charging while the 10 Pro has 33W SuperVOOC charging.
Both phones will also come with enhanced RAM Expansion (up to 24GB and large storage. The realme 10 Pro+ will have two variants: 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage. Meanwhile, the realme 10 Pro will come in an 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. These phones will have realme UI 4.0 based on Android 13 out of the box.
Camera Changes and a Trendsetting Design
The realme 10 Pro Series carries the 108MP ProLight camera that uses a Samsung HM6 sensor. Both phones will have the same main camera accompanied by the HyperShot Imaging Architecture previously found in realme’s GT Series. This architecture optimizes three aspects of the camera software: faster image processing, providing clarity of photos taken, and nighttime shots. These phones also have Street Photography Mode 3.0 and new camera features such as One Shot, Super Group Portrait, and AI Video Tracking.
In terms of design, the realme 10 Pro carries the same boxier design as its non-Pro sibling, the realme 10. Meanwhile, the curved display of the realme 10 Pro+ provides a more premium feel in tandem with the curved back. Both phones sport a Hyperspace Design for the Hyperspace Gold color which is inspired by the scenic visuals of going through hyperspace tunnels. The other colors, Dark Matter and Nebula Blue (realme 10 Pro only), are based on other elements in outer space.
