As our lives become more digital, smartphones are necessities. I appreciate realme’s efforts to bring more features from its higher-end phones to its C Series of smartphones. Following the release of the realme C67 earlier this year, we’re getting the realme C65! From the usual smartphone essentials to the various “real Essentials” software features, does the overall package work? Here are my realme C65 first impressions.
Disclaimer: realme Philippines sent over a realme C65 review unit in Starlight Purple. It arrived on May 28 and I’ve been using the phone for over a week.
Unboxing Experience
We get the usual yellow box here on the realme C65. Honestly speaking, there isn’t much to talk about here besides getting all the usual stuff inside the box. I’m glad that phone makers continue to include chargers in the box. You would think flagship phones can have them in the box, but some opt not to.
It’s nice to see fast charging become standard throughout the whole C Series lineup. (realme’s Note Series took over the role of providing mainly the essentials.)
A Phone You Can Count On
Since smartphones are necessities these days, it would be nice if they last for a long time. This is why it’s nice to see realme get the TÜV SÜD 48-Month Fluency Rating for the realme C65. The 48-month Fluency Rating assures buyers of the phone that it will perform like new after 4 years. While I cannot guarantee or validate that, it’s something to consider especially if you’re not upgrading your phone often.
The C65 continues realme’s commitment to providing quality phones across the board. It’s 7.64 mm thin, weighs 185 grams, and comes in this Shining Starlight Design. While I can sense a familiarity with this design, this Starlight Purple color is growing on me. The realme C65 also has IP54 water and dust resistance, so you don
The realme C65 comes with a 6.67-inch HD+ LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate. While that may seem uninspiring, realme made this display TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light Certified. This means that the C65’s display emits lower blue light than most phones. With a 625-nit peak brightness and a 1-nit minimum brightness, you are sure that the display can adapt to your needs throughout the day.
What Are These “real Essentials”?
I initially wondered what these “real Essentials” are. They are software features that help enhance your smartphone use. Mini Capsule 2.0 builds upon last year’s Mini Capsule feature and adds music and weather previews, among other things. AI Boost lets you enhance the performance in common apps and games. With Dynamic Button, you can add shortcuts when you double-tap and double-press the power button.
The most interesting one of these “real Essentials” is Air Gestures. It detects your hand using the front camera and lets you scroll supported apps. There are also gestures when receiving and muting calls.
There are A LOT of software features here that I might just cover in my full review.
Let’s Check These Sample Photos!
The realme C65 features a 50MP AI camera at the back and an 8MP selfie camera at the front. While I can’t comment much on the camera quality, I can share some sample photos here! Check back here for the full review.
That’s all for my realme C65 first impressions! What do you wanna see in my full review? Sound off in the comments below.
