realme Philippines is at it again! Last year, they went for a broader appeal with the C11, C12, and C15. Now, they launched the latest in the C-series with the realme C25! I have it on hand with me, but I didn’t really have enough time to put out a review. That’s not stopping me though and I have some thoughts right out of the gate. With that in mind, here’s my realme C25 unboxing and 24-hour impressions.
Welcome Back the Yellow Box!
Yes yes. Unlike the narzo 30A which now has a distinct box for the whole narzo line moving forward, the C-series just gets the standard yellow box. I honestly don’t mind, but it would be nice to see box variations on its mid-range and high-end phones. You still get the usual free jelly case on here, and you get an 18W adapter + USB-C to USB-A cable. I’m glad that budget phones still get chargers.
A Classy Design Without Fingerprints!
When I first saw the back of the realme C25, I knew I would love it already. That’s because it has this Geometric Art Design. It has a nice matte back, but the feel is slightly different than even the realme 7. The company logo doesn’t really distract from the look of the back. It also has a line from the bottom of the rear camera module to create that slightly two-tone look. I got the Water Grey color, but it also comes in Water Blue.
Let’s Talk About TÜV Rheinland
You might be wondering as to why I put the realme C25 besides the realme 7 here. This is because the latter was the first time I heard about the TÜV Rheinland smartphone reliability certification. While the realme 7 series did get the TÜV Rheinland Smartphone Reliability Certification, this C-series phone takes it a step further! The realme C25 is the first smartphone to get the TÜV Rheinland Smartphone High-Reliability Certification. Said certification consists of 23 major tests which help assure the user that the phone can last up to 3 years of its life cycle. This is good for people like me who tend to drop my phone from time to time.
Thoughts on the Display and Performance
On paper, the specs on the realme C25 are just decent for a budget phone. That includes a MediaTek Helio G70 processor, 4GB RAM, and 64GB of storage. I tried playing Mobile Legends and Asphalt 9 on this phone, and it works fine for the most part. There were settings that I had to adjust for Mobile Legends, but it ended up giving me no issues. It also helps that the display on here has a 720p resolution. You would think there’s a chance that realme would at least bring 1080p here, but they didn’t. (I feel that they used the same display panel at least since the realme 5 series in 2019.)
While doing the realme C25 unboxing, I realized that this phone now comes with realme UI 2.0 out of the box! This is great, especially as this new version of realme UI brings a lot of customization, privacy & sharing, and performance efficiency to your realme phone. I haven’t gone too deep with checking out all of what version 2.0 has to offer. This is something I’m checking out in the full review.
Getting a 48MP Main Rear Camera is Nice.
I’m glad that realme continues to bring all of its camera tech to more and more affordable phones. This continues in the realme C25 with its 48MP AI Triple Cameras. That 48MP main camera really makes a difference compared to previous C-series phones with 13MP main cameras. Here are some sample shots I took!
I’m liking the quality so far, but I have a feeling the cameras have their limits. Stay tuned to my full review for a more detailed look at the realme C25’s cameras.
Here’s How Much the realme C25 Is.
The realme C25 is priced at P7,490 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage model. Compared to the C15 with the same configuration, that’s P500 more. Although it may seem expensive, the C25 has a better processor and main camera for the price. You do lose the ultrawide camera though. With that being said, I’m reserving my full judgment until the full review.
