ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) announced the availability and pricing of the 2024 Zephyrus G Series. The announcement happened during its Transcendence event on March 7, 2024. Focusing more on portability, the 2024 ROG Zephyrus G14 and ROG Zephyrus G16 are thinner and lighter than their predecessors. The new laptops are no slouches though. They carry the latest that Intel, AMD, and NVIDIA offer but are geared towards their more portable nature.
Standout Features of the 2024 ROG Zephyrus G14 and G16
A Return to Portability…
ASUS ROG realized after launching last year’s Zephyrus G Series laptops that their core audience valued their portability as much as their performance. This is why the 2024 Zephyrus G14 and G16 boast a lightweight, all-aluminum chassis for durability and extra space inside. That extra space brings the following benefits:
- A sleek, edge-to-edge keyboard and 25% larger speakers
- Larger keycaps and touchpads for improved typing and gaming
Both the Zephyrus G14 and G16 also get a new Platinum White color with a matte finish. They also get a new Slash Lighting LED system on the lid with customizable patterns and animations.
…That Doesn’t Skimp on Performance
Both new Zephyrus G Series laptops don’t skimp on the performance aspect despite their more portable nature.
The 2024 Zephryus G14 rocks the latest AMD Ryzen 8000 Series processors with Ryzen AI support. What that means is it enables Windows Studio productivity tools such as automatic framing, eye-contact correction, and advanced background effects during video calls. This laptop boasts up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU that can handle graphics-heavy applications and games. You can also take advantage of NVIDIA-specific features such as DLSS 3.5, Frame Generation, and Ray Reconstruction.
Meanwhile, the 2024 Zephyrus G16 rocks up to the latest Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor paired with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Laptop GPU. This means it can handle what the G14 can and more!
First ROG OLED Gaming Laptop with ROG Nebula Display
These new Zephyrus G laptops are the first gaming laptops with OLED displays to have the ROG Nebula Display. Both laptops have the following display specs:
- 16:10 aspect ratio
- Support for VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500
- 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio
- Support for 100% of the DCI-P3 color space
- Delta E accuracy of less than 1
- 0.2 ms gray-to-gray response time
- NVIDIA G-SYNC support
All of those display specs mean that these laptops won’t let you down whether you’re a gamer that needs the speed or a content creator that needs those accurate colors.
The 2024 ROG Zephyrus G14 has a display with a 3K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, while the G16 has a 2.5K display with a 240Hz refresh rate.
Hyper-Efficient Cooling
Thanks to how thin and light these new laptops are, there’s a need for highly efficient cooling solutions. The CPU utilizes a high-performance liquid metal thermal compound. To effectively help expel heat from the chassis, these laptops use 2nd Generation Arc Flow Fans. Using Tri-fan technology that takes advantage of a third auxiliary fan, the laptops can better direct airflow over components and remove GPU heat.
For Zephyrus G16 models with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Laptop GPU, there’s a custom vapor chamber with dual fans that can accommodate the flagship hardware.
