So Much Custom Tech!
HONOR’s latest foldable phone brings a lot of custom technologies to the table that helps it stand out from other foldable phones. The Magic V2 features a Super-light Titanium Hinge, which helps it achieve its INSANE 9.9 mm thickness when folded and its 231 g of weight. The use of a titanium alloy in the hinge cover contributes to a stronger yet lighter hinge. The use of HONOR’s proprietary steel also helps, since it makes up 67% of the hinge! With the redesigned hinge support structure, HONOR reduced the thickness by 75% and the depth of fold marks by 47%.
Another standout thing about the Magic V2 for me is HONOR’s use of its own Silicon-Carbon battery! Bringing a “three-in-one” display driver component combined with said battery tech allowed HONOR to fit a 5000 mAh battery! It’s NUTS that HONOR was able to get ahead of pioneers like Samsung in this department.
If that’s not enough, HONOR was also able to develop an ultra-thin antenna that’s 3 mm thin! Even with how thin it is, this antenna achieved a 10% higher antenna area than the Magic Vs.
