HUAWEI P60 Pro Now in the Philippines!

Despite the current setbacks it is facing, HUAWEI continues to impress with its ecosystem of devices. Even after the Leica partnership ended, the company somehow improved on its imaging prowess. This is on full display with Huawei’s latest smartphone: the HUAWEI P60 Pro!

HUAWEI P60 Pro - Cameras

The Cameras are A DEFINITE STANDOUT!

Last year, the HUAWEI Mate 50 Pro debuted the company’s XMAGE imaging technology. It proved to be a really exciting prospect for Huawei’s cameras. Now we’re seeing the technology in full bloom in the P60 Pro!

This phone features the Ultra Lighting XMAGE Camera consisting of a 48MP Ultra Lighting main camera with variable aperture (f/1.4 – f/4.0) and OIS, a 48MP Ultra Lighting telephoto camera with an f/2.1 aperture and OIS, and a 13MP ultrawide camera with an f/2.2 aperture. It also has a 13MP front camera with an f/2.4 aperture.

As someone who was able to try the cameras through an Exclusive Preview, I can tell that the photos look great! More on my hands-on impressions of this phone in a separate article.

Flagship-Caliber Specs Inbound!

Just because Huawei put a lot of effort in the cameras here doesn’t mean that the phone is a slouch. It has a 6.67-inch Quad-Curve LTPO OLED display with a 2700 x 1220 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. This display supports the P3 color gamut which made this phone gain the TÜV Rheinland Colour Accuracy Dual Certification (Colour Accuracy & Precise Colour Projection). Covered by Durable Kunlun Glass, you also have a more durable display on top of it being a really color-accurate display.

Powering this phone is a 4G version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor with either 8 or 12 GB of RAM and either 256 or 512 GB of storage. It may only have a 4815 mAh battery but there is support for 88W HUAWEI SuperCharge and 50W Wireless HUAWEI SuperCharge. There’s even a Turbo mode when using that 88W HUAWEI SuperCharge that lets you charge to 50% in just 10 minutes!

It comes in two colors: Black and Rococo Pearl. What makes the latter color unique is that each one carries a unique design. I even heard that HUAWEI made more of the Rococo Pearl color than the black one! (Don’t quote me on that.)

Pricing and Availability

The HUAWEI P60 Pro comes in two variants. We get the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant for P58,999 and the 12GB RAM + 512GB storage variant for P69,999. Unlike in the past where the unique design is reserved for the more expensive variant, both Rococo Pearl and Black colors are available in both variants.

If you preorder from May 12 to 25, 2023, you get a FREE HUAWEI Watch GT3, FREE 3 months of 200GB HUAWEI Cloud, and 1 year of extended warranty. You can also avail of trade-in offers which lets you save up to P30,000 + an P8,000 add-on voucher. For credit card holders, you can avail of up to 24 months installment with 0% interest.

What do you think about HUAWEI’s latest flagship? Do the cameras alone make you switch from your current phone? Sound off in the comments.
