Acer Philippines held an event last October 3, 2017! They were very eager to share what they can do for schools, companies, and general consumers! From gaming to education, they got a lot to offer us. Here are 5 things that I learned from Acer’s event:
Acer Philippines Supports Schools!
Despite the ease of using gadgets, there are still people out there who have a hard time using a computer. Unlike millennials and people who live and breathe computers, there are those who don’t have the privilege to use a computer. With that in mind, Acer Philippines has Acer Academy! This initiative helps schools get the necessary knowledge and tools they need to improve the state of computer literacy!
Acer Has a Gaming Line!
Despite being a tech blogger, there are some things I didn’t know about. For instance, I just knew days before the event that Acer also has a gaming line! It’s called Predator. Unlike ASUS Republic of Gamers and MSI, Acer said that Predator is for the more subdued gamer. Based on what I saw during the event, I have to agree. I especially like the newest member of their lineup.
Introducing the Predator Triton 700!
Besides the fact that the backlight has a blue color, this laptop actually looks like it can kill a man. Seriously though, it looks like a BEAST of a laptop. Despite its relatively thin profile, the Predator Triton 700 is a legitimate gaming laptop through and through! Here are the specs:

Sure it may cost around P100-150K, but it’ll be all worth it once you realize how powerful this laptop is. You don’t even need to be a gamer to appreciate the power that this brings!

Acer is SO Into The Cloud!
You may know Acer for their laptops, but did you know they are really into cloud computing since 2001? This also surprised me! I know many companies are getting in the cloud game, but I didn’t know that they joined in on the game! It also helps that they understood how the cloud can be used effectively. In order for them to gain an advantage, they built their own data centers back in 2001! Eventually, they gained a lot of ground and reaped the benefits. Good for them to have the insight to get in the cloud business as early as they did!
Acer is #1 Notebook in PH!
They shared another surprising yet amazing feat: #1 Notebook in PH for 11 YEARS and #1 PC in PH for 8 YEARS! This is insane to me! I actually thought that Lenovo or HP has the crown. I was SO WRONG. Acer actually holds that crown for a long time now. I actually want to congratulate them for exerting A LOT of effort to keep it that way.
