After weeks of teasing, vivo launched its newest V Series phone in the Philippines: the vivo V40! While its predecessor only had ZEISS optics on the Pro model, vivo brought it to the standard V40. Starting at P26,999, vivo brings most of the Pro experience at a lower price point.

The V Series has always been vivo’s avenue to showcase its camera prowess to a more mainstream audience while being very stylish. With the V40, we’re getting next-level camera performance thanks to having three 50MP rear cameras that have ZEISS optics! This phone also has different portrait photo and video capabilities in collaboration with ZEISS: ZEISS Multifocal Portrait, ZEISS Style Portraits, and ZEISS Cinematic Portrait Video.

This is thanks to its support for both IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance ratings. I haven’t seen a new midrange phone support this high of an IP rating before, so this is nice to see.
The V40 also rocks a 1.5K Ultra Clear Sunlight Display with a 120Hz refresh rate. This ensures vivid and sharp visuals that feel smooth when using the phone. The display’s 4500-nit peak local brightness and 1200 nits of overall brightness helps the V40 stand out even under direct sunlight.
The Pinnacle of vivo’s Sleek Design
vivo continues to flex its design prowess in the V40! This phone features a Gemini Ring Design camera module inspired by the symmetry of the Gemini star constellation. The phone itself remains super-slim at 7.85 mm thin, while boasting a 3D curved screen. It’s amazing that the vivo V40 has the capabilities it has, including its Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, while having a phone this slim.
