After making successive launches in its A-series of phones, OPPO now launched the OPPO A74 5G in the Philippines. The company also partnered with PH telco Smart to give customers more ways to get the phone.
What’s New with the OPPO A74 5G?
This phone runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 480 5G processor which enables 5G connectivity on more affordable phones like this one. The A74 5G also carries 128GB of storage that helps you store a lot of those apps and games. You also get a capable 48MP AI Quad Camera that helps you up your social media game.
It also has a 1080p display with 90Hz refresh rate which gives you smoother scrolling and high refresh rate gaming. You can do that all in one day thanks to its 5000 mAh battery with 18W fast charge.
The A74 5G Works Well with Smart 5G
Customers can make the most of the amazing features of OPPO A74 5G powered by Smart 5G, the country’s fastest 5G network as reported by Ookla®, the global leader in internet testing and analysis, in its Speedtest Intelligence analysis for Q1 2021. Smart also lets customers connect to next-level speeds on the country’s most extensive 5G network today with over 2,600 Smart 5G sites all over the Philippines.
Smart 5G complements Smart LTE, the country’s fastest mobile data network as reported by third-party mobile analytics firms like Ookla and Opensignal.
Pricing and Availability
You can get the A74 5G in two colors: Fluid Black and Space Silver. It costs P15,999 and you can get it in three ways:
- Smart gets first dibs through Smart Signature Plan 999 (since April 30). It has a minimal cashout of P2,990 for new subscribers and P1,400 for recontracting customers. Said plan consists of 5GB data, unlimited calls & texts to all networks, and 50 minutes of calls to PLDT. This offer is exclusive to Smart Stores nationwide and on the Smart Online Store until June 15, 2021.
- You can also get it through OPPO’s e-commerce partners Shopee (since May 4) and Lazada (from May 9).

It’s really “smart” for SMART (no pun intended lol) to have this signature plan 999. It’s one of the best budget phones.
Indeed, it’s getting easier to acquire a new phone these days. I just got myself the RealMe 7 weeks ago and I think they have the same specs as you’ve mentioned in this Oppo phone, but in a much lesser cost.
Now I realized that one way to prevent a flood cellphones would be getting a postpaid plan that will give you a phone. At least the phone stays with you for 24 months before you give it to someone else or throw it away.
I hope this phone is worthy of the current monthly plan that it belongs.
