realme Philippines first made its 5G push with the realme X50 Pro 5G last December 2020. After launching the realme 8 and realme 8 Pro last month, realme is bringing its first Number Series phone with 5G cellular technology. Say hello to the realme 8 5G!
Standout Features of the realme 8 5G
The Philippines recently got a lot of 5G smartphones with the hope of pushing 5G to more people. Thanks to the MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor, realme is able to make 5G more accessible to its customers. The company also added a 5G Power Saving mode so you don’t have to worry about battery drain.
This phone has aspects that it got from the realme 8 and 8 Pro like the 8GB RAM, 128GB internal storage, and a 16MP front camera. Unlike its siblings though, this smartphone has slight differences such as:
- 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate
- Triple rear cameras: 48MP main camera, 2MP macro camera, and 2MP depth sensor
- 5000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging
This phone does come with realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11. It comes in two colors: Supersonic Blue, and Supersonic Black.
Pricing and Availability
The realme 8 5G costs P11,990 with 8GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. It will be available in realme Concept Stores and kiosks, authorized retailers, and through e-commerce partner Shopee. In fact, you can take advantage of the early bird sale on Shopee on June 25 with a P1,500 discount! (That now brings the price down to P10,490!)
You can take advantage of Home Credit and credit card installments for 6 months at 0% interest. Both Globe and Smart will also offer this smartphone through its postpaid plans soon.

I came here at the right time. A good friend of mine is planning to get a RealMe phone and this is something she might consider getting. I will share this post with her. Thank you, Jul.
I’ll save your post, Jules, in case I want to buy a new phone. I’ve read that realme has joined budget phone makers Motorola and Nokia in pushing out super-cheap handsets that cover all the necessary basics without putting a huge dent in our bank balance.
That’s true, but I think Motorola and Nokia aren’t really that competitive in the budget market. Chinese brands like realme and Xiaomi are leading the charge there. Kinda concerning for some people who are worried about China’s influence but not a worry for me right now.
My question really boils down to the camera, Jullian. Is it at least comparable to other brands? That’s what’s holding me back in considering a RealMe as a primary phone.
Not all phones from realme have flagship-level cameras though. Maybe the realme 7 or 8 Series of phones or higher are good enough. 🙂
The price and specs! I actually compared this to the phones of my parents I bought. The specs are way higher with its price.
Yeah and 5 G is getting cheaper cheaper and I’m almost tempted to upgrade already but I think I can still wait for next year’s batch of phones.
My shiny object syndrome is shaking hahahaha I just found a deal from my Metrobank CC as well. 0% installment for Realme 8 w/ free earbuds. This phone brand never fails to blow me away!!!
