OPPO Reno6 and Reno6 Z Coming to the Philippines!

Jullian Robin Sibi 8

OPPO will soon launch the OPPO Reno6 5G and the OPPO Reno6 Z 5G in the Philippines! The live stream launch happens on August 6, 2021, at 7 PM via the OPPO Philippines Facebook and YouTube pages. This happens months after the Reno5 Series launch in the country. The OPPO Reno6 series runs on MediaTek Dimensity processors which means both phones have 5G support! (It’s the first time that’s happened in the Reno line of smartphones.)

Loving the Flat Design on the Reno6!

It was really subtle when I first saw the phone, but the OPPO Reno6 now rocks a flat design. This really reminds me of another phone with a similar flat design. Even the antenna lines are a nice touch! It’s a surprise to me that OPPO managed to put its own sparkling flair, especially with the Aurora color. This is thanks to the company’s proprietary design technology called Reno Glow. (Don’t worry, there’s a Stellar Black color if you want a more understated look.)

The OPPO Reno6 has a MediaTek Dimensity 900 processor, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage, a 32MP front camera, and a triple rear camera system with a 64MP main camera. It’ll have ColorOS 11.3 based on Android 11 out of the box, a 4300 mAh battery with 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 charging.

Love the Curves? There’s the Reno6 Z!

If you think having a flat-edge design is uncomfortable in your hands, then you can go for the Reno6 Z! It has a curved back for a more comfortable feel in the hand, yet it still comes in that pretty Aurora color! It also gets the same Reno Glow design you see on the Reno6.

The Reno6 Z has a MediaTek Dimensity 800U processor, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage, a 32MP front camera, and a triple rear camera with a 64MP main camera. It also has ColorOS 11 based on Android 11, a 4310 mAh battery with 30W VOOC Flash Charge technology.

Both phones have cool new AI Portrait camera features like Bokeh Flare Portrait, AI Portrait Beautification Video, AI Highlight Video, and AI Palette.

OPPO Reno6 series launch livestream

We’ll know more about pricing and availability in the Philippines during the live stream on August 6! There will be a lot of stuff going on and leading the charge are the much-loved celebrities Nadine Lustre, and James Reid. There will also be performances from Careless Music Manila artists Massiah, Jolianne, and the A-Team during the live stream event. It’s not just that though: OPPO will also be giving away special prizes and freebies including OPPO IoT devices and even the Reno6 Z!

  2. All I can say is that the OPPO Reno6 Z 5G appears to me like a trimmed-down version of the classic Reno6 but still keeping the same set of cameras and 5G connectivity. Am I right?

  3. I always look at the battery capacity, camera and screen. This device got it all.

  4. The Aurora looks sleek and feminine! But the LIVE on August 6 got me because of the possibility of winning freebies from Oppo. Hahaha. I don’t have any plan to buy a new gadget anytime soon, but I will tune it to Oppo’s page on Friday. 🙂 Thank you for sharing, Jul.

  5. How do they come up with all these names I wonder…. My ex-boss was named Reno >.< , but their colors look appealing.
