Foldable phones have been one of the bright spots in a world where phones are getting stale. However, most of the world just gets this new frontier in phones from one company. That has slowly been changing in the past year. I’m really glad that OPPO is pushing this technology forward. The company will do just that in the Philippines with the OPPO Find N2 Flip on March 22!
Standout Features of the OPPO Find N2 Flip
OPPO brought its A-game with its first clamshell foldable phone. It has a bigger 3.26-inch cover screen which makes taking selfies and checking notifications better. You can also do a lot of things with that cover screen such as:
- Quickly reply to messages in mainstream messenger apps
- Toggle settings
- Record a voice note
- Answer a call
Its design looks so refined that I would almost mistake it for a 2nd attempt at this form factor! That’s thanks to its polished aluminium sides, a fingerprint-resistant glass cover and a unique micro-etched wave pattern across the hinge.
A Fun Foldable While Providing a Flagship Experience
The OPPO Find N2 Flip is not just a fun foldable to use, but also a powerful one to boot.
This starts with its 6.8-inch E6 AMOLED display with its 21:9 aspect ratio and a 120Hz refresh rate. Its peak brightness goes up to 1600 nits. Powering this phone is a MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ processor with optimizations thanks to the collaboration between OPPO and MediaTek.
Fun Cameras!
This phone also rocks a dual rear camera system that consists of a 50MP Sony IMX890 main camera with f/1.8 aperture and an 8MP ultrawide camera with f/2.2 aperture. There’s also a 32MP front camera present, but I think you’ll be using those rear cameras for really good selfies.
You can also take advantage of the FlexForm Mode which takes advantage of this phone’s New Generation Flexion Hinge. This allows the phone to hold its position mid-fold between 45º and 110º. You can do waist-level dynamic angles and evocative 4K time-lapse video.
A New Hinge
Speaking of its hinge, OPPO made sure that it can last for a long time. The company even tapped TÜV Rheinland to test its durability independently. This phone was certified to withstand over 400,000 folds and unfolds at standard room temperature. That’s equivalent to opening and closing the phone around 100 times a day for more than ten years, and it’s also tested up to 100,000 times at 50ºC and 95 percent humidity, and at -20ºC.
The Biggest Battery in a Flip Phone
Thanks to OPPO’s efforts to redesign the internals of the Find N2 Flip, it was able to fit a 4300 mAh battery! As mentioned, it is the biggest battery in a flip phone. Coupled with 44W SUPERVOOC fast charging, this is probably one of the best battery experiences in a foldable phone!
It’ll be interesting to see how OPPO Philippines will price its first foldable. If done right, I’m sure it’ll find its audience. Are you excited to see the OPPO Find N2 Flip in the Philippines? Sound off in the comments!
