Jullian Robin Sibi 0

ASUS Philippines just launched its new line of premium ZenBook OLED laptops powered by 12th-gen Intel Core processors! Spearheaded by the special ZenBook 14X OLED Space Edition laptop, the company wants to give Filipinos a more modern laptop. Without further ado, here is what they are launching!

ZenBook 14X OLED Space Edition

I think I was salivating over this laptop when I first saw this announced earlier this year. Good thing ASUS Philippines is bringing this really SICK special edition ZenBook OLED laptop!

What’s Up With This Space Theme?

ASUS recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of the ASUS P6300 laptop’s journey through space! It survived and reliably operated in that harsh environment during its 600-day mission in the Mir Space Station. In commemoration of that, ASUS is releasing a really unique ZenBook 14X OLED Space Edition inspired by the history of space travel!

This laptop has a lot of space station design elements and hints of morse code. It comes with a special Zero-G Titanium color finish. As if we already had enough design cues for it, ASUS also squeezed in a ZenVision smart display! It’s a 3.5-inch OLED companion display mounted externally on the lid. Similar to the displays we see on ROG Phones, it can show customizable messages, themes, and animations. I’m glad that you don’t have to be a gamer to have this kind of customizability.

Since this is a Space Edition laptop, it complies with the ultra-demanding US Space Systems Command Standard SMC-S-016A testing protocols. This means that it withstood extreme vibration and temperature that is four times more than the standard Military Grade durability.

Packs a Space-Worthy Punch!

Of course, this laptop also packs a punch with up to a 12th-gen Intel Core i7-12700H processor with Intel Iris Xe graphics. It also has 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, up to a 1TB PCIe 4.0 x4 SSD, ASUS IceCool thermal technology, and WiFi 6E.

It’s nuts that I haven’t talked about one of its standout features: its display! The 14-inch OLED touchscreen display is very capable with a 16:10 aspect ratio, a 2880 x 1800 resolution, PANTONE validation, and a 90Hz refresh rate. This display covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and has TÜV Rheinland-certified eye care.

The ZenBook 14X OLED Space Edition comes in that Zero-G Titanium finish and its price starts at P84,995. If you just want a cleaner look with your laptop, there’s the regular ZenBook 14X OLED that comes in a Pine Grey color starting at P74,995.

That’s not to say that these two ZenBook OLED laptops here aren’t capable! The ZenBook 14 OLED is plenty capable and now has a more modern look. They now feature the ASUS monogram on the lid which actually looks really sleek! You can get these laptops in Ponder Blue or Aqua Celadon (UX3402 model) and Jade Black (UM3402 model). Besides the look, it has a lot of useful user-centric features such as:

  • 180-degree lay-flat ErgoLift hinge
  • A fingerprint sensor on the power button
  • ASUS NumberPad 2.0
  • A webcam with ASUS 3D Noise Reduction (3DNR) technology
  • NEW full-size ASUS ErgoSense keyboard and touchpad

You can get the ZenBook 14 OLED with either a 12th-gen Intel Core P-series processor (UX3402 model) or an AMD Ryzen 5000 series processor (UM3402 model). Both will feature a 75Wh battery so it’ll help the laptop last longer on the go. If you’re getting the UX3402 model, then you’re assured that it conforms to the Intel EVO platform.

This might be the laptop that could make me switch back to Windows. Hmmm.

Of course, the star of the show is its 16:10, 2.8K OLED NanoEdge 90Hz display. Coupled with speakers that have Harman Kardon-certified Dolby Atmos audio, you are sure to get a cinematic audiovisual experience. This laptop doesn’t skimp on I/O ports and passes the demanding US military-grade MIL-STD 810H durability tests.

The ZenBook 14 OLED (UX3402) starts at P72,995 while the UM3402 model with a Ryzen 5 5600U retails for P59,995.

ZenBook 14 Flip OLED

For those who love the convertible form factor, the ZenBook 14 Flip OLED is the one for you! It has the exclusive and durable ASUS 360-degree ErgoLift Hinge which allows you to basically flip the screen around at any position. In spite of that flexibility, ASUS made this laptop with a diamond-cut aluminum alloy giving it a smooth finish. This only weighs 1.4kg and even got a 2022 iF Design Award!

It’s still plenty powerful with a 12th-gen Intel Core i5-12500H processor coupled with integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics. Being a ZenBook OLED laptop, it of course has a 14-inch 2.8K OLED HDR 16:10 touchscreen display with a 4-sided NanoEdge design. You’ll appreciate its slim 2.9 mm bezels and its 88% screen-to-body ratio. Its display also supports a 2880 x 1800 resolution, a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, 0.2ms response time, and has VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black certification.

ZenBook 14 Flip OLED

Since it can basically be a tablet if you need it to be, it supports a 4096-pressure-level stylus! Don’t worry about it heating up too much since it also comes with the ASUS IceCool thermal technology.

The ZenBook 14 Flip OLED retails for P87,995.

All these laptops come with Windows 11, a lifetime license to Microsoft Office apps, a FREE 3-month subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud, a 2-year Global Warranty, and ASUS Platinum Protection Warranty on the first year upon purchase.
