We’re at the time of the year where A LOT of new gadgets and accessories come out in time for the holidays! One company that’s known for announcing stuff at this time is Apple. With that in mind, they just announced the date for the Apple September 2018 event!
Apple events always excite me because there’s always a lot of stuff coming out. It’s usually on purpose, but it always excites me to see a lot of new Apple hardware coming out. With that out of the way, here are the things you should know going into this.
100% Expected
2018 iPhones
Let’s face it: the iPhone X didn’t quite reach Apple’s expectations. It didn’t sell a lot, but it managed to be the best-selling iPhone for a few months. This year, they’re going ALL IN on the iPhone X’s design!
We expect Apple to launch 3 NEW iPhones at the event. All of them will get the iPhone X look at the front (notch included). Two of them will be the successors of last year’s flagship. Thanks to info from 9to5Mac, Notable specs include:
- A12 processor
- 4GB RAM
- 5.8-inch OLED display (same as iPhone X);
- Plus-sized model with 6.5-inch OLED display
- Gold color option
There will also be an iPhone that will cost less than $700 and will have these specs:
- A12 processor
- 3GB RAM
- 6.1-inch LCD display
- Various number of colors (including red and orange)
- Aluminum sides instead of stainless steel on the iPhone Xs models
I expect all 3 new iPhones to have Face ID and wireless charging. All 3 models will be in that Apple September 2018 event.
Apple Watch Series 4
The Apple Watch Series 3 is probably the most compelling Apple Watch to date! It kept everything that this device does well and added LTE connectivity. With the upcoming Apple September 2018 event, they’re launching the Apple Watch Series 4.
It’ll have a bigger display but keep the same front panel dimensions due to smaller bezels! Thanks to the bigger display, you can now put A LOT MORE Complications on the watch face! The Digital Crown indicator that tells you that this Apple Watch has LTE is more subtle with the red ring.
Other than that, there’s not much to go on yet. Good thing we won’t have to wait much longer.
Maybe in This Event
New iPad Pros
Apple may launch new iPad Pros in this event. They’ll mainly have shrunken down bezels, Face ID, and bigger displays. Fortunately, there will be no notches in these devices. Not much has been shown besides the info I just said. Here’s to hoping we know more during the Apple September 2018 event!
New MacBook Air
Another rumor floating around is the comeback of the MacBook Air! It will FINALLY get a Retina display and smaller bezels. Like the other rumors, there aren’t any more details other than this report from Daring Fireball.
