TechLife Pad Lite 8″ Review: A Portable Digital Companion

TechLife Pad Lite 8 Inch Review Header

If there’s one thing I’ve learned about myself over years of being a tech reviewer, it’s that I’m not much of a big tablet user. When reviewing tablets, I tend to just watch videos and scroll on social media feeds. A A while after finishing the review, I would eventually stop using the tablet in favor of my phone or my laptop. When the TechLife Pad Lite 8″ arrived on my doorstep, I was curious if this was the tablet to change my perception. Here is my full review of TechLife’s latest tablet offering.

Disclaimer: TechLife Philippines sent over the TechLife Pad Lite 8″ in Champagne Gold. It arrived on July 19, 2025, and I unboxed it on July 20. I’ve been using this tablet for a week as my main way to watch YouTube and Netflix videos.

The Portability

TechLife Pad Lite 8" Review - Portability

If I had to identify this tablet’s greatest strength, it would be its portability. At a weight of 337.9 grams and being 8.5 mm thin, I can easily put this in some of my bigger sling bags. It also helps that I can mostly carry it with one hand regardless of orientation. This tablet also rocks a microSD card slot for expandable storage and a nano SIM card slot for LTE connectivity.

Having a tablet that’s this portable unlocks many possibilities for me, especially in terms of entertainment. One example I thought of is offloading the YouTube watching to the tablet while being more productive on my laptop.

TechLife Pad Lite 8" Review - Detachable Stand

Another thing I like about the TechLife Pad Lite is its detachable stand. Despite my infinite wisdom of breaking said stand as soon as I used it, I really found the stand very useful. One example for my case is when listening to YouTube videos in the background on the tablet while typing this very review.

Display and Speakers

TechLife Pad Lite 8" Review - Display

The 8-inch LCD display on the TechLife Pad Lite is good enough for everyday scenarios. In spite of its 1280 x 800 resolution and 90Hz refresh rate, I appreciate the display quality and the color reproduction. The display is just bright enough indoors, so I recommend not to use it outside.

While this tablet does have dual speakers, both of them are just in one side. This means you can easily cover one of the speakers when in the landscape orientation. The speakers are loud enough despite it sounding kind of tinny or muffled at times.

Performance and Battery Experience

The TechLife Pad Lite 8″ uses a UNISOC T606 octa-core processor, coupled with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB of storage. This tablet supports up to 4GB of expandable RAM, bringing its usable RAM to 8GB. While the overall user experience is just okay, this is good enough for the price. I don’t expect to have a smooth gaming experience on this even if it’s for casual use, so I mostly just use the tablet for watching videos.

If you care about benchmarks, here’s one screenshot of an AnTuTu benchmark result:

TechLife Pad Lite 8" Review - Battery Life

While I’m pretty bummed that this tablet only supports 10W charging, its 6000 mAh battery powers it very well. I can basically go through multiple days without charging and I could still manage to get multiple hours of watching YouTube and Netflix. It’s possible that social media scrolling can reduce this, but this is really good for what I use this tablet for.

Serviceable Cameras

The TechLife Pad Lite 8″ has a 5MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie camera. These are just serviceable and should only be used for video calls and nothing more.

Should You Buy the TechLife Pad Lite 8-Inch?

In one word: YES.

This may seem unconventional just to say yes to a question that needs explanation, but it really is that simple. The TechLife Pad Lite 8″ offers the essentials of what people look for in a digital companion. From being really portable to having a good display, speakers, and battery life, this tablet offers a lot for P4,999. This is great for those who need a secondary device that can help with productivity.
