They may not have the most attractive offers since they are an Apple reseller. What they lack in that, they make up for it with a huge launch event on November 16 at Greenbelt 3! People who attend the event and buy an iPhone 8 can get a chance to win another one or a P20,000 GC!
Not only that, the first 23 iPhone 8 buyers get an exclusive starter kit! It contains premium accessories including the following items below!
- wireless charger
- wall charger
- power bank
- earphones
- iPhone case
- screen protector
- 3.5mm to Lightning adapter
- phone/screen cleaner
You think you can’t be one of the first 23? Well be #24 – #100 and you still get an iPhone case, a screen protector, and a lightning cable. All this starts at 6PM on November 16 all the way up to 12:01AM of November 17!
Globe
Globe has its usual offerings through ThePLAN. The recommended plan for iPhone 8 (64GB) is ThePLAN 1799 + P19,200 (P800/month for 24 months). The plan contains the following:
- Unlimited ALL-NET texts
- Unlimited calls to Globe/TM
- 11GB data (up to 8GB can be rollover data)
- FREE 1 month Gadget Care
- Netflix access for 6 months
- Disney app access for 6 months
- Spotify Premium access for 3 months
For the iPhone 8 Plus (64GB), the recommended plan is ThePLAN 1799 + P25,200 cashout (P1,050/month for 24 months). The same contents apply to this one.
If you’re renewing your contract, you can get P2,400 off the cashout! You can check out the rest of the cashout table right HERE. There are multiple options in paying the cashout: one-time cash, straight credit card charge, or credit card installments! You can preorder the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus through the Globe Online Shop if you’re getting a new or additional line!
Smart
Despite being behind in terms of iPhone support (started with iPhone 4s in 2011), Smart always has competitive postpaid offerings. This continues with the iPhone 8 and in my opinion, the offerings got better!
Smart’s recommended plan is iPhone Plan 1999 + P16,800 cashout (P700/month for 24 months) for the iPhone 8 (64GB). For the iPhone 8 Plus (64GB), it’s the iPhone Plan 1999 + P24,000 cashout (P1,000/month for 24 months).
The iPhone Plan contains the following:
- 12GB data + 1 FREE APP monthly
- Unlimited texts to all networks
- 70 mins of calls to all networks
- FREE 1 month Gadget Shield
The options I mentioned for Globe’s plans apply to Smart’s as well on how you pay the cashout. You can preorder both the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus through Smart’s Online Store.
Which Option is Best for You?
Despite me giving you the iPhone 8 Philippines release details, are you still undecided on where to get your iPhone 8? Here are my thoughts on which option is best for you.
If you want get an unlocked iPhone 8 (an iPhone without Globe or Smart SIM-locking), get one from Power Mac Center. I think they have the most robust after-sales of all the Apple resellers in the Philippines.
If you want to get the lowest cashout for an iPhone 8, go with Smart’s recommended plan. At P16,800 (iPhone 8, 64GB) and P24,000 (iPhone 8 Plus, 64GB) respectively, you can’t go any lower than that with a postpaid plan.
If you want more value out of your iPhone 8 purchase, go with Globe’s recommended plan. Here’s the table of the overall cost of your iPhone 8 with the postpaid plan.

Based on the table above, you actually save around P2-3K if you get Globe’s plans! This doesn’t even include the discount for those who will recontract! Of course, this will depend on which telco has better cell coverage in your area.
There you have it! I hope you choose well and pick the option that best suits you! Of course, there’s the looming Philippine release of the iPhone X.
