POCO just launched two new members of its M series of phones. Those are the POCO M5 and the POCO M5s! Both phones have a standout feature that users will appreciate. The M5 is the first smartphone to use the MediaTek Helio G99 processor while the M5s brings a great camera experience and an AMOLED display at a sub-P10,000 price point.
POCO M5: The Performance Player
As mentioned up top, the POCO M5 is the first smartphone to use the MediaTek Helio G99 processor. Built on a flagship-level 6nm manufacturing process, the powerful chipset includes an octa-core CPU, with two high-performance Cortex-A76 clocking up to 2.2GHz. Along with that high-performing CPUT is an ARM Mali G57 GPU for advanced 3D graphics. All of this provides an unprecedented full system for snappier gaming performance in a value phone. Paired with this processor is up to 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage.
Fronting this phone is a 6.5-inch Full HD+ DotDrop 90Hz display with DynamicSwitch technology. With it, the POCO M5 can dynamically switch the display refresh rate depending on what you’re doing. The display ramps up when you’re playing but dials down when you’re watching a movie on Netflix. Games will feel more responsive with your touches thanks to the 240Hz touch sampling rate.

POCO M5s: The Fun Magician
Despite this phone looking really similar to another phone from last year, the POCO M5s is a value phone that brings entertainment into the forefront. It starts with a 6.43-inch Full HD+ AMOLED DotDisplay and stereo speakers. Both of those features bring a very immersive audio-visual experience.
It also carries a quad rear camera system consisting of a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. These cameras seem very familiar, but they are good ones for the price. It also has a 13MP front camera for good quality selfies and video calls.
Other features of the POCO M5s are its MediaTek Helio G95 processor that proves to be very capable including 4K video recording at 30 fps. Like the M5, it also has up to 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. It also provides that speedy performance for mobile gaming. Powering this phone is a big 5000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging to let you do more for longer.
Pricing and Availability
The POCO M5 comes in three colors: Black, Green, and Yellow. It retails for P9,499 for the 4GB+64GB model and P10,499 for the 6GB+128GB model. Meanwhile, the POCO M5s also comes in three colors: Grey, White, and Blue. It retails for P9,999 for the 4GB+64GB model and P10,899 for the 6GB+128GB model. Both will be available via official e-commerce channels.
