Apple finished showing off some of their new stuff at their September 2018 event! After showing the Apple Watch Series 4, they went on and showed the successor to the iPhone X. Without further delay, here they are!
The iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max!
Right off the bat, you see some new things with the Xs. First off, there are two of them! There’s the iPhone Xs which is the direct successor to the iPhone X. There’s also the iPhone Xs Max which is basically a bigger iPhone Xs! Both of them are OLED displays so you get the best possible display tech in an iPhone! The regular Xs maintains the same 5.8-inch display as a X, while the Xs Max gets a huge 6.5-inch display!
We Now Have Gold!
In addition to the Silver and Space Gray colors from the iPhone X, both the Xs and Xs Max come in Gold! The stainless steel band looks like a dark copper gold type. There were rumors that came out last year that the Gold color would have come out with the iPhone X. Good thing it’s official this time.
Apple’s Chip Prowess in Display!
Both Xs and Xs Max get the all-new Apple A12 Bionic chip! It contains a 6-core CPU, a 4-core GPU, and an all-new 8-core Neural Engine! This enables a lot of neat new tricks that may or may not be in other smartphones already.
Better Portrait Photos!
One of the neat things that these new iPhones can do is take better portrait photos! Thanks to the all-new Neural Engine in the A12 Bionic, you can also adjust the blur of the background! It may not be a new thing, but I’m happy to see them on the new iPhones.
Other Cool Features!
Also thanks to the A12 Bionic, Apple claims that the Xs and Xs Max has faster Face ID. These phones also has better water resistance with that IP68 rating (can be submerged up to 2 meters for 30 minutes).
The iPhone Xs and Xs Max is currently available for preorder and will come out on September 21 in launch countries. Go to this link to know which countries get these phones first. The Xs starts at $999 for the 64GB version, $1149 for the 256GB, and $1349 for the 512GB one. The Xs Max starts at $1099 for the 64GB version, $1249 for the 256GB, and $1449 for the 512GB one.
I personally think they’re the least compelling S models. If you have an iPhone X, there is no reason for you to get a Xs unless you want a bigger screen on the Max version. What do you think of the new flagship phones from Apple? Do they bore you at this point? Let me know in the comment below!
