After Apple launched them back in September, the iPhone 16 lineup is coming to the Philippines on October 18! This is after various authorized Apple resellers and local telcos started posting about the pre-order and availability dates of the new iPhones. We gathered as much info on which resellers posted and the possible pre-order and launch date offers.
iPhone 16 Philippines Pre-order and Availability
All iPhone 16 models will be up for pre-order online on October 10, 12:01 AM. You can do so at Apple’s Online Store directly or through authorized resellers and local telcos.
Authorized resellers such as Power Mac Center and Beyond the Box will offer both online and in-store preorders. It is unclear as of this time how local telcos Globe and Smart will handle pre-orders of the new iPhones. (Based on previous launches, there will most likely be online pre-orders as well.)
As for exact pricing, we won’t know how the resellers will price these phone until October 10. (The reseller pricing is usually higher than the Apple Online Store SRP. You can go check the Apple Online Store pricing here.) Expect all the resellers and telcos to have all sorts of deals when you preorder, including those special credit card offers and freebies.
Standout Features of the iPhone 16 Lineup
In case you need a refresher, the new iPhones have features that are common regardless of which one you’ll get! Those include:
- The new Camera Control where you can get to the camera, quickly take a photo, and adjust important camera settings with various types of presses
- While not new to the Pro models, the Action Button also comes to the regular 16 and 16 Plus that lets you customize a certain action to be done when pressing it. From keeping it as a Ring/Silent switch to even opening that favorite app or yours, it can be quite useful.
- The regular 16 and 16 Plus get Apple’s A18 chip, while the 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max get the A18 Pro chip.
- All these new iPhones will get Apple Intelligence, a suite of features powered by Apple’s own language models that can be done on-device. You can summarize text, read email summaries, get a better and more natural Siri, and more. Only a few Apple Intelligence features are expected when iOS 18.1 is released to the public in October.
As someone who’s looking to upgrade, I can’t wait to see the new iPhone 16 models in person! Are you as excited as I am? Sound off in the comments!
