2020 just started, but I think realme wants to make a huge splash! It already put out its answer to the AirPods with the realme Buds Air and now it’s putting out a new smartphone! These succeeding releases are really bananas if you ask me. It’s fitting given that realme has a promo where you get P1,000 off when you get a smartphone and the Buds Air. This is probably a phone that could help out with that: the realme 5i!
What’s Different with the realme 5i?
There are three main differences compared to the realme 5 that came out just a few months ago. The back on this phone ditches the crystal back design for a Sunrise Design look. Note that this is still a polycarbonate back. It comes in Aqua Blue and Forest Green.
The realme 5i still retains the 4 rear cameras that the 5 had: 12MP main sensor, 8MP ultra wide-angle sensor, 2MP portrait sensor, and 2MP macro sensor. The only change in this department is in the front camera: the 5i has an 8MP sensor compared to the 13MP front camera on the realme 5.
One more thing that’s different with this phone is the storage. The 5i has 64GB storage compared to the Lazada-exclusive model that has 32GB storage. The 5i keeps the 3GB RAM in the Philippines. (The India model has 4GB of RAM.) The other aspects of the 5i remain the same. It has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor, 5000 mAh battery, and a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD display.
realme Philippines will launch this phone on January 29, 2020! Based on the price of the Lazada model of the realme 5, my guess for the price of the 5i is either P5,990 or P6,490. Let’s find out together!
